Hundreds of artists, diplomats, and celebrities gathered for this inspiring evening with art installations, music, dance, and mixed-media presentations. Here, Art in Embassies program director Beth Dozoretz flanked by Fox News anchor Bret Baier and his wife Amy. For 50 years, the State Dept’s Office of Art in Embassies has chosen and displayed American Art, mostly in our embassies and ambassadors’ residences in 189 different countries. This event, as well as others all week, gave the public an insider’s glimpse. We snapped Foundation of Art and Preservation in Embassies’ (FAPE)Steve Salny and Wilma Bernstein flanking former AmbassadorMary Ourisman and philanthropist Grace Bender. Five artists were awarded State’s Medal of Arts by Hillary Clinton Friday, and their accomplishments were lauded at the celebration. We loved the performance by the Ellington School’s Radical Elite Show Band with artist Nick Cave. AIE continues its celebration with special programs showcasing the important role of art in US diplomacy. Here, Boston Residential Group’s Curtis Kemeny, Jennifer Camel-Toueg, and DFT’s Hussein Fateh.
