Sheila Keefe is nationally recognized for her contemporary icons, expressions of traditional Christian iconography coupled with her unique style. Keefe came to northern New Mexico from Washington, D.C., searching for quiet surroundings in which to concentrate on her art. Her work is minimal yet poetic and invokes a lingering mood of contemplation and reverence.
