Donna Stufft

Through their venture, Painted Stitches, mother-daughter team and textile artists Sara Jillard and Donna Stufft create art quilts using innovative surface design techniques while leading workshops, lectures, and group courses. Stufft first began making traditional quilts in her twenties, inspired by the feed sack quilts made by her Pennsylvania Dutch ancestors. Jillard learned to sew from her mother as a child and has pursued other creative endeavors such as painting and graphic design. Both women are inspired by the landscape of Virginia’s Eastern Shore, where they live.
