Brian Paumier

Brian Paumier’s work is profoundly autobiographical. He maps his eclectic personal history through portraits and still lifes, drawing freely from his memories of influential family and friends, his ties to Mexican culture and traditions, his experience as a soldier, and his life as an artist with his long-term partner, Joaquin Trujillo. His images chronicle one man’s quest for identity, masculinity, and equanimity.

Brian Paumier received his MFA from ICP/Bard and his BFA from Art Center College of Design. He has had recent solo exhibitions in New York and Los Angeles. His collaborative work with Trujillo Paumier has been exhibited in galleries and museums in the United States, Mexico, and France and is in the permanent collections of The Weisman Foundation and The William Benton Museum of Art.
