A native of rural North Carolina, Bernie Horton attended the Ringing School of Art in Sarasota, Florida. After enjoying thirty years of success in advertising and design, he turned his full attention to fine art. Living at the marsh’s edge in Pawley’s Island, South Carolina, Horton is inspired by his surroundings, and infuses his paintings with the light and spirit of the landscape. His works capture the changing moods of the Lowcountry day, as well as that of the people harvesting the bounty of the marsh. His work hangs in numerous corporate and private collections.
