Zoë Charlton

Zoë Charlton negotiates nuanced and layered identities, both prescribed and self-determined as a Black woman, an artist, and an academic. Her practice focuses on social commentary, primarily consisting of large-scale drawings of women adorned with culturally loaded objects in collaged landscapes. Occasionally, she works in sculpture and animation, and in installation and video in collaboration with other artists.
