Max Bachmann

Born in Brunswick, Germany, in 1862, Max Bachmann was active as a sculptor in New York City by 1899. Noted for his portrait busts, Indian heads, and allegorical figures, he had a successful career, which included a large commission for the Pulitzer Building in New York for a number of figures from around the world.
