Derwin Leiva is a painter and sculptor whose fractured forms and planes recall the paintings of twentieth-century modernist painters such as Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque. However, the rhythmic movement pulsing throughout his compositions is inspired by the music of his native Cuba.
