Melody Lane

Melody Lane attended the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where she majored in advertising. She studied with ceramic artist Ruth Duckworth at the Ox Bow Summer Art Colony, Saugatuck, Michigan, August 1976; James Makins, Parsons School of Art, New York, Winter 1982; and Robert Parrott, Carolyn Jacobs, and Ellen Jacobson at Creative Arts Workshop, New Haven, Connecticut. Her awards include the Connecticut Commission on the Arts, Artist Fellowship Grant, 2004. She has had solo shows at Wave Gallery, New Haven, September 1990; the Ellen Traut Collection, Hartford, Connecticut, September 1995; and Artistic Images, Huntsville, Alabama, July-August 1999. Her work has been exhibited at the National Museum of Ceramic Art, Baltimore, Maryland; Yale University Art Gallery, New Haven; and in numerous galleries throughout the United States and Canada.
