Mary Gray

Mary Gray was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She studied art with Lila B. Hetzelat at the Carnegie Institute in Pittsburgh, with Arthur W. Dow, and at Columbia University in New York. Gray was a member of the Allied Artists of America, National Arts Club, Eastern Arts Association and the American Federation of Arts, and in 1929, was elected an Associate Member of the National Academy of Design. Gray became known for her small impressionist interior scenes
