Charlene Dodson

Charlene Bulls Dodson is a registered member of the Choctaw Tribe. Her father was Choctaw and her Mother was Anglo-American. She has five children, fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She has displayed her art at various quilt shows, (Houston, Texas and Paducah, Kentucky), and in two Art in Embassies exhibitions. Her first Memory Quilt that appeared in Creative Quilting in September, 1987, began the memory quilt craze.

Charlene was Director of the American Indian Cultural Centerin Amarillo, Texas, for 6 years. She started a program there for Indian Women to learn to quilt.
