Andris Eglitis, born in 1981, is one of the most prominent young painters in the Baltic States today. He has previously been a candidate for the Purvitis Prize in Visual Art 2009. By portraying everyday scenes from a slightly different angle, Eglitis has the ability to lead the viewer to new revelations of noticing the forgotten or ordinary. The artist transforms any exhibition space into a different reality as the concept of his work goes beyond the borders of one painting.
