Bob Sandberg

Described as a photographer who “exemplified excellence in craftsmanship and innovation,” Bob Sandberg was a photojournalist for Look Magazine for thirty-two years. In 1943, he joined the United States Marine Corps and became a sergeant on the staff of Leatherneck Magazine. After resuming his career with Look, he won two Freedom Foundation awards. Noteworthy photography assignments included a week in Moscow with comedian Bob Hope; six weeks on John F. Kennedy’s presidential campaign trail; and other stories on First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, Vice President Nelson Rockefeller, and President Harry S. Truman.
