Born in Illinois, Reaugh came to Texas in 1876. He studied at the Saint Louis School of Fine Arts and at the Academie Julian in Paris. Reaugh exhibiting his pastels and oils of the Texas range cattle industry and the Southwestern landscape at the National Academy of Design, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, as well as the world’s fairs in Chicago and Saint Louis.
