William Eastman

William Joseph Eastman (American, 1880-1950) Children in the Park, Paris. Gouache on board, signed in the lower right corner, framed under glass overall 27-1/4″ x 29″. Born in Cleveland, William Eastman attended the Cleveland School of Art, graduating in 1912, after which he studied at the Art Students League in New York. When he returned to Cleveland, he was an instructor at the Cleveland School of Art throughout the rest of his life; Charles Burchfield having been one of his students. He traveled and exhibited widely in the United States and the Continent, and organized venues for artists to market work.
