Wesley Clark

Wesley Clark constructs mixed media wood assemblages infused with political and social criticisms, primarily of the issues faced by the Black community in America. “I examine the psyche of young black males feeling like a target and being targeted. I question tradition or the lack of tradition and the role it plays on ones values today,” he says. Interpreted as unique artifacts, his assemblages are fashioned to appear as if they belong to another time and encourage viewers to “question their importance and create narratives based on their experiences.”
