Valerie Markwood’s paintings and works on paper have been featured in solo and group exhibitions in museums and galleries throughout the United States throughout the United States and abroad, including the Springfield (MA) Museum of Fine Arts; the Owensboro (KY) Museum of Fine Art; the Erie (PA) Art Museum, the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Museum, the Elaine Benson Gallery, Bridgehampton, New York and in New York City at the Museum of Holography, the Soho Center for the Visual Arts, and The First Womens Bank. Markwood was selected to participate in the U.S. State Departments Art in Embassies Program where her work was on long-time loan to embassies in Cameroon and Indonesia. Her work is included in private, corporate, and public collections, including the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Museum; the Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Institute, New York City; and the estate of Larry Aldrich, Ridgefield, CT.
