I coil and use slabs with my clay. I scrape them, then paint a terra siglatta slip on them. After a certain time in drying I burnish them all with polished stones. I then fire. Next I stain and wax, then start attaching the fossils where the appropriate spaces have been created. They are a unique combination that works because both are of the earth…both need silca to become what they eventually become…they are geologically connected through time.
