Susan Kokora grew up in what was once rural New Jersey, but she had easy access to the museums and galleries of New York City. She has drawn and created art throughout her life. She is a resident of Asheville, North Carolina, and she began a formal study of oil painting with John Mac Kah in 2014. She is a member of the Saints of Paint, a group of artists who collaborate with not-for-profits with an interest in the environment and social justice in producing fundraising events. Her work has been sold, donated, and displayed locally.
