Alabama artist Sally Smith Legg is a versatile artist who explores a wide range of subjects. Sally primarily works in oils using bright clean colors to achieve a realistic style of painting. Light dances across the canvas pulling the viewer into the paintings.
Her passion for exploring new ideas and challenges is expressed through a variety of artistic mediums including painting, ceramics, sculpture, metalworks, graphics, needlework, interior design, and gardening.
For ten years, Sally enjoyed a career in interior design. Interior Design Magazine recognized Sally in “Who’s Who in the Southeast” for having sales of over one million per year.
Designing commercial interiors for clients including Hospital Corporation of America, Vanderbilt University, and Kindercare corporate offices fostered Sally’s desire to create unique and uplifting interiors.
Realizing that artwork is a major contributor to personalizing offices and homes, Sally switched her attention from interior design to creating artwork. She has worked as an art consultant for clients including Southern Living and First Commercial Bank.
Sally is a native of Montgomery, Alabama and resides in Birmingham with her husband and two daughters.
Sally has been represented in galleries for 24 years. Her works are included in various collections including Sonomas Bank, Alabama Bar Association, Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Children’s Hospital, and Balch & Bingham, LLP.
