Patton Blackwell

Patton Blackwell’s abstract paintings are deeply rooted in the artist’s observation of her surroundings. “Through my contact and involvement with nature,” she says, “[its] invisible and visible patterns…are recreated, passed on, and resolved on the canvas.” Having traveled extensively, Blackwell is equally inspired by the foliage of her native South Carolina, the streets of Rio de Janeiro, and the Aegean Sea. She invites the viewer to explore their internal and external perceptions of consciousness via her examination of color intensity and rigorous brushwork.
