“Plein Air — out in nature — is how I began to paint just before the turn of the century. Nothing compares to being out there with the wind and rain, bugs and changing light. Truly challenging, yet inspiring! That’s where you will find the true colors and shapes of Nature And, most days, me and my easel, brushes and canvas.
There are days, though, when Nature’s reality is just too much, and I seek my cozy studio.
Here, I work on larger paintings, using as reference the plein air studies. This is when I really get to push some paint around, let inspiration guide the brush.”
