Mohamed-Saeed Omer

Born in Omdurman, Sudan in 1967, Mohamed-Saeed came to the U.S. in 1997 and currently works and lives with his family in New York City. He obtained a Bachelor of Fine Art majoring in advance Sculpture from Ohio State University in 2004, following his studying art in the College of Fine and Applied Art in Khartoum, Sudan. Using multiple mediums and found material in his artwork, Mohamed-Saeed has participated in many international shows since 1992. His work has been shown in many exhibitions in different countries including Sudan, Switzerland, Egypt, Oman and several venues here in the U.S. His artwork is collected by many organizations and individuals. In 2005 his work selected by the Greater Columbus Art Council to receive an award as outstanding sculpture between fifty artists. Recently his work selected by the US Department of State, Art in Embassies Program to be part of the permanent collection of the American Embassy in Khartoum.
