Katherine Allen

Nature’s joyous moments, celebratory gestures and expressive colors are the subject of Katherine K. Allen’s artworks. These meditations on nature are created using plant materials from Katherine’s tropical garden and studio woodlands. Her unique artistic process brings together painting, printing and stitching to create soothing, evocative landscapes. Katherine’s work has been described as “truly engaging” by Marci McDade, the editor of Fiberarts Magazine, with a “mysterious quality evoking memory and atmosphere.”

Originally from Oklahoma, Katherine has been a resident of South Florida since 1983. She divides her time between Fort Lauderdale and her studio in Easton, Maryland on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. She earned her BFA from the University of Arizona and holds an MFA from The Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Her elegant soft paintings are exhibited in Europe, Asia and the United States and held in both corporate and private collections.
