Galen Gibson Cornell

Galen Gibson-Cornell’s practice comprises “urban exploration, found-material collage, and principles of détournement.” As a visual artist, he gathers advertisements, flyers, and other ephemera from international cities and brings them to his Philadelphia studio, transforming them into woven street posters. To recreate his own ombré color blends in a printmaking studio, he uses large sheets of paper with multicolored ink printed on them and interweaves his paper with the found posters.
