Elizabeth Clay Fisher

Born in Dedham, Massachusetts, Elizabeth Clay Fisher studied at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School, the New York School of Art, and the Robert Henri School of Art in New York. She later studied under Henri, himself, in Paris, and his influence can be seen in the immediacy and vitality of her portraits and in the gestural nature of her brushwork.

Fisher was active in the Boston art community until she moved to Halifax, Yorkshire, England, where she continued her artistic pursuits.
