Donald Mitchell

Donald Mitchell’s early work consisted primarily of obsessively crosshatched fields of lines that covered the page and hid any trace of an underlying image. Several years ago, Donald Mitchell started to reveal the faces and forms that he had buried on the page. Mitchell’s prolific work is now filled with figures in motion and repose, and his trademark has become a tightly composed, graphically sophisticated page of crowded figures. Donald exhibited his work in 2007 at Gavin Brown’s enterprise, New York, ABCD, Paris.
