Her oeuvre is rooted in her multicultural background and life experiences—from the “tropical mysticism” of Java, Indonesia, to the “punk, go-go, and graffiti-fueled streets” of Washington, D.C. Each composition honors local communities and weaves iconic images of the past and present.
