Betsy Gandy

Betsy Gandy was born in the United States and received her Bachelor of Arts in art from Mercer University, her Master of Arts in art history from the University of Georgia, and her diploma superior in Spanish from the Universidad de Salamanca, Spain. She taught art History, art appreciation, and Spanish at various universities while painting freelance over a period of two decades before deciding to turn her attention to painting full time.

Gandy made her artistic debut in Madrid, Spain, and has since exhibited in shows throughout the United States and abroad. Her preferred medium is acrylic on canvas, with her main focus on a series titled “Excavations,” based on her impressions of prehistoric cave paintings, another series known as “Spanish Skies,” and prints and paintings of wildlife.
